I’m Elfie Schürfeld-Todor.
A communications strategist, writer and artist.
I’m interested in how we understand the world, and how our perspective changes when artificial intelligence becomes part of our lives. What it makes possible. How it changes communication. And how we relate to one another along the way.
I work with AI. And I’m passionate about it.
AI helps me explore and challenge ideas. The thinking is my own, and I take responsibility for what I publish.
I use conversations with AI to develop ideas, test arguments and consider opposing views. I work with text, images, audio and video, and I also use AI to edit photographs. My writing starts with my own questions, experiences and convictions. I decide which sources to trust and what to publish.

Communications strategy for the post-attention era.
Writing has been a constant throughout my career, from traditional marketing to social media, digital content and blogging, and now to AI. Since 2021, I have been exploring AI and its possibilities, developing ideas and discovering new forms of expression.
Since 2010, I have worked in communications and marketing, where strategy meets implementation: first in brand communications, later also in political communications. I’m interested in how a good idea becomes something people can understand and put to use.
Since October 2026, I have been AI Search Strategist & Project Manager at duwerk, working on visibility in AI search and answer systems. I continue to run my own projects, 11iE and Euphemia Stokefield, alongside this role.
Essays on AI, communication and society.
On 11iE, I write about artificial intelligence, communication and society. I explore how public identity takes shape, how AI changes visibility and reputation, and the connections between human and artificial thought. My essays draw on professional experience, theory and personal observation.
I want to understand change and explore possibilities. Some questions remain open. They often become the starting point for the next essay.
The future can be gentle.
As a woman working in tech, I want my empathy, femininity and artistic sensibility to remain visible. I work with AI, strategy and technology, and I value beauty, tenderness and feeling. All of this is part of who I am. They are also why 11iE is taking on a softer, more welcoming visual language.
Technological progress should reduce suffering and make a good life possible. I want us to combine human ingenuity with the possibilities of AI to overcome disease, alleviate hardship and make our world a better place to live. Cooperation is my starting point, including when I think about possible superintelligence.
This hope has shaped my work as Euphemia Stokefield from the start. I want to create worlds with room for beauty, curiosity and hope. Images that make us want to help build a good future.

Three Worlds

My story has several chapters.
I grew up in Berlin, lived in Portugal for five years and currently live in Hamburg. I led the cross-media division at RTL Radiovermarktung, then worked independently on strategies and campaigns for nine years. Political work at local, state, federal and international levels has broadened my perspective.
Studying alongside my work
I initially studied Business Administration and Art History at Freie Universität Berlin. While building the cross-media division at RTL Radiovermarktung, I switched to a degree programme I could complete alongside my work. In 2016, I completed a Bachelor of Arts (B. A.) in Business Administration at South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences while working. My bachelor’s thesis explored whether the concept of a brand can be applied to a person. Those questions about personal brands, authenticity and reputation still inform my work today.
Sustainability in everyday life
11iE has a history of its own. Sustainability, conscious consumption and practical changes in everyday life were once its focus. My recipe development and publications with GEPA and the former directory of zero-waste shops belong to that chapter. This work remains part of my story. I travelled to La Gomera by car and ferry with my family. It was a wonderful experience for all of us. Our five years in Portugal also shaped our lives. We plant trees on our land there. Sustainability remains part of my everyday life.
I’m interested in longevity and how we can live longer in good health. Good ingredients, homemade food, organic produce and mindful enjoyment matter to me. The brownies and Dominosteine on GEPA’s website are recipes I developed myself. Responsibility also remains part of how I think about technology and the future.

Mo Gawdat
I discovered Mo Gawdat through Steven Bartlett’s podcast The Diary of a CEO. I have followed him ever since because many of his views resonate with me.
Ray Kurzweil
I keep returning to the idea of the singularity and how humans and technology might evolve together. I recommend The Singularity Is Nearer: When We Merge with AI. Fantastic Voyage, co-authored with Terry Grossman, also connects with my interest in longevity.
Marcus Hutter
I particularly enjoyed an interview with Marcus Hutter on Everlast AI. His book Job-Less Utopia: Macroeconomics in the Age of AGI is on my reading list.
